Preview build — Pull Request #125

Recreating the signature365 add-in permissions

Problem

The Signature 365 Outlook add-in has already been deployed to users, but the Microsoft 365 permissions required by the add-in need to be reapplied.

This may be required after the Microsoft 365 integration has been re-completed or if consent for the Signature 365 application has been removed.

Solution

The permissions can be reapplied without redeploying the Outlook add-in by granting administrator consent to the Signature 365 application again.

You will need to sign in using a Global Administrator account for the affected Microsoft 365 tenant. The normal Signature 365 add-in deployment process also requires these permissions to be accepted by an administrator.

Reapply the permissions

  1. Open the following Microsoft administrator consent link in a browser:

Add-in permission consent

  1. Sign in using a Global Administrator account for the Microsoft 365 tenant where the Signature 365 Outlook add-in is deployed.
  2. Review the permissions requested by Signature 365.
  3. Click Accept to grant consent on behalf of the organisation.

Microsoft will then return you to the Signature 365 admin-consent page. The Microsoft admin-consent endpoint grants the permissions specified in the request to the application within the selected tenant.

The permissions required by the Signature 365 Outlook add-in have now been reapplied.

Next steps

If the Outlook add-in continues to report an authentication or permissions error after completing these steps, contact support@symprex.com with details of the affected user and the error displayed by the add-in.
